Clinical Applications & Treatments
    in Sports Medicine

    Clinical applications

Early to moderate osteoarthritis of the knee, hip, shoulder, and ankle:
→ Pain reduction and improved joint function, even in young and active patients.
    Meniscal and cartilage lesions:
→ Tissue repair and biological support for healing.
Chronic tendinopathies (e.g., Achilles tendon, patellar tendon, rotator cuff):
→ Tendon tissue regeneration and inflammation reduction.
Muscle injuries and volumetric muscle loss (VML):
→ Recovery and regeneration of damaged muscle tissue.
Carpal tunnel syndrome and entrapment neuropathies:
    → Neuroprotection and pain relief.
    Wrist and small joint osteoarthritis:
→ Improved mobility and reduction of pain-related symptoms.

Role of mesenchymal Stem Cells (ADSCS)
    in Sports Medicine

    Cartilage:
→ Indicated in the treatment of early osteoarthritis of the knee, hip, and ankle.

    Tendons and ligaments:
→ Effective in chronic tendinopathies (e.g., lateral epicondylitis, patellar tendinitis, rotator cuff injuries).

    Muscle:
→ Promote repair following traumatic or overuse-related muscle injuries.

    Plantar fascia and small joints:
→ Useful in conditions resistant to conservative treatments.

    Clinical effects

    Anti-inflammatory Effect:
→ ADSCs modulate the inflammatory response through the secretion of anti-inflammatory cytokines (IL-10, TGF-β). They   in affected tissues, improving joint load tolerance. They promote the macrophage shift from a pro-inflammatory (M1) to a regenerative (M2) phenotype.

    Regenerative Effect:
→ Stimulate the proliferation and differentiation of resident cells (chondrocytes, tenocytes, myocytes).Promote neoangiogenesis and tissue remodeling. Enhance extracellular matrix synthesis, improving the quality of damaged tissues.

    Analgesic Effect:
→ The anti-inflammatory and regenerative actions result in significant pain reduction, even in chronic conditions. Reduced need for anti-inflammatory drugs or corticosteroid injections.

    Immunomodulatory Effect:
→ ADSCs interact with immune system cells (lymphocytes, macrophages, dendritic cells), attenuating autoimmune responses. This is particularly beneficial in degenerative and inflammatory joint diseases caused by microtrauma.

    Functional Improvement:
→ Increased joint range of motion. Improved muscle strength and performance in functional tests.Shortened recovery times after injury.
